MacGregor, former Director of Steve Norris’s campaign to be Mayor of London, comes to the surprising conclusion that the current Mayor Ken Livingstone is right to demand direct control of policing.

He also advises, “Rather than the window dressing we have seen in the past, what London needs is a dramatic shake up of the insular and defensive culture of the police so that the entire community is engaged in the fight against crime.”
