The US War on Poverty – Why poverty won and what should change

Policy Exchange was delighted host a talk by Peter Cove on his strategy for ending poverty in the USA.

Peter Cove has spent over half a century fighting poverty in America. He is the founder of America Works, the first for-profit, welfare-to-work company. He has creared more than 1 million jobs for welfare recipients through America Works and other private sector endeavours.

He is the author of many op-eds and magazine articles on work and poverty and has contributed to publications including the New York Post, New York Daily News, The Hill, City Journal, and the Huffington Post.

Peter spoke about his experiences and his book followed by a discussion and Q&A with special guest Lord Finkelstein OBE.
