During a successful Conservative Party Conference for Policy Exchange, the former independent reviewer of terrorism legislation David Anderson QC endorsed our recent report on countering online extremism, ‘The New Netwar‘, while speaking at a packed Spectator & Sky fringe event on Monday night.
During a panel discussion on freedom and security in the age of the Internet featuring Home Secretary Amber Rudd, Anderson cited our findings on Islamic States’s online strategy and continued ability to produce and disseminate extremist content. In addition he put to the Home Secretary Policy Exchange’s recommendation that Ofcom take on an independent regulatory role towards tech companies and extremist content online.
