Equalities and Rights: Conflict and the Need for Clarity

In a landmark speech at Policy Exchange, Attorney General, the Rt Hon Suella Braverman QC MP, provided a welcome affirmation of the importance of legal clarity for schools and other public bodies on the much-vexed question of managing gender-questioning children and the central role of Parliament in rights protection. She also spoke about the use of the judicially expanded ECHR to obstruct Government action on illegal migration and the use of human rights and its legal test of ‘proportionality’ as a defence to criminal damage charges.

Her speech was covered in The Times, the Telegraph, the Guardian, the Independent, the Mail, the Mirror, the Spectator, the Law Society GazetteCapX. It appeared in article form on ConHome, and was reprinted in the Critic.
