Husband and wife team, Professor Angela Stent and Dr Daniel Yergin, are uniquely positioned to analyse the meaning and the lasting impact of the Ukraine crisis – from geopolitical confrontation to global energy crisis.

Professor Angela Stent is regarded as one of the world’s experts on Russia and its foreign policy. Her newest book, Putin’s World, is described by William Burns, current CIA director and former Deputy Secretary of State, as “the definitive guide to understanding the tangled history of post-Cold War Russia…could not be more timely.” She is currently Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution where she co-chairs the Hewitt Forum on Post-Soviet Affairs. She formerly directed the Center on Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies at Georgetown University. She has also served in the Office of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State. Her latest book Putin’s World won the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy’s prize for the best book on U.S-Russian Relations.

Dr Daniel Yergin is a leading authority on energy, international politics, economics, and is a Pulitzer Prize winner. He is Vice Chairman of S&P Global, and is chairman of IHS Markit’s CERAWeek conference. Dr. Yergin served on the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board under four presidents. He is a member of the board of directors of the Council on Foreign Relations, a trustee of the Brookings Institution, and a member of the Dallas Federal Reserve’s Energy Advisory Council and the Energy Think Tank of the Government of India. His latest book The New Map: Energy, Climate and the Clash of Nations was described as “a wonderful book on the transformation of the global map of power and wealth” by The Sunday Times. He is also the author of the bestseller The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World His Pulitzer Prize winning book The Prize was made into a BBC series, as was another of his books, The Commanding Heights: the Battle for the World Economy.
