Cleverlands recounts the journey and discoveries of Lucy Crehan, teacher and education explorer, as she travelled to five of the world’s highest performing education systems and spent time living with their teachers, and teaching in their schools. In this book, she takes the reader beyond the headlines and the ‘big data’ to ask what school is really like in these oft-discussed ‘education superpowers’.

At the launch, Lucy will share the five approaches that she has identified as underlying the success of high-performing and equitable education systems, and make some suggestions as to what this means for the education system in England.

“A major breakthrough” – Sir Michael Barber
“A must-read” – Sir Clive Woodward
“A remarkable and original book” – Dylan Wiliam
“Profoundly insightful” – Tim Oates CBE
