John Keown MA (Cantab) DPhil (Oxon) PhD (Cantab) DCL (Oxon) holds the Rose Kennedy Chair in the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. He was previously a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at Cambridge. The second edition of his book Euthanasia, Ethics and Public Policy, acclaimed as ‘the classic text’ on the issue, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2018. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford. His surname is pronounced like that of the former Arsenal and England footballer.
